Race Rules and Regulations:
A knockout system will be used similar to Formula One. During the time allotted, drivers are allowed unlimited attempts to qualify with their fastest lap of each round counting as their official time.
For Oval longer than 1.5 miles:
Due to how the draft works, a single car qualifying format is used. In round 1, each car will have one warm-up lap and one timed lap. The top 12 drivers will advanced to round 2. The order of the field positions 13th-24th will be set after round 1.
In round 2, each car will again have one warm-up lap and one timed lap. Times in round 2 will be used to set the field order for positions 1st thru 12th.
In round 1, drivers will have 15 minutes to set their fastest lap. All Cars will be on the track at the same time (Collisions On). [Note: Dirty laps will be counted] At the end of round 1 the fastest 12 times will advance to round 2. The order of the field, positions 13th-24th, will be set after round 1.
In round 2, drivers will have 10 minutes to set their fastest lap. Same rules as round 1 will apply. The order of the field, positions 1st-12th, will be set after round 2.
Race:
All oval races will begin with 3 pace laps. All road courses will begin with 2 pace laps. At the end of the pace laps, the field will partake in a double file rolling start. The leader of the race is to begin accelerating inside this zone to resume the race. The second place car may not be ahead of the leader at the moment of green flag; however, either car on the front row may cross the start/finish line first. Passing is not permitted until the leader of the race crosses the start-finish line. Lane changes are also not permitted until after a car clears the finish line.
All road courses will begin with 2 pace laps. At the end of the pace laps, the field will partake in a double file rolling start. Poll position will maintain pace speed until the start/finish line is reached.
When the green flag is flown, a twenty minute timer will begin. If a caution is not thrown prior to the timer reaching zero, a competition caution will be given. This will regroup the field and allow for pit-stops.
A caution will be thrown if an accident occurs or if a competition caution is required. Once a caution is called, the field is frozen immediately at the moment of caution. Cars are to slow to pace vehicle (safety car) speed. Cars will line up, single file, in the race order when the caution was called. The only exception to this is if the caution flag is thrown with ≤4 laps remaining. If this occurs, refer to rules for Green/White/Checker Finish.
When the caution comes out, the pit lane is immediately closed. Entering pit road while pit road is closed will result in “Starting at the End of the Longest Line.”
During a “Quickie Yellow” all cars may enter pit road the first time by when it is opened. After the pit stops, the first car one lap down when the field was frozen for the caution is permitted to go around the pace car and start the race at the rear of the field, but back on the lead lap(Lucky Dog Rule).
During a “Full Yellow” only lead lap cars may pit the first time by the pit road. One the lead lap cars who have decided to pit have entered pit road, the “Lucky Dog” will be sent around the pace car to earn their lap back. The next time by, all cars may pit. At the one to go till green, any car that is ahead of the race leader will be waved around to the rear of the field. These cars are not permitted to pit until after the green flag comes back out and the race has resumed.
All restarts will be double file. The race leader gets lane choice, but the third place (and odd positons on back) car will always start in the inside line, while the fourth place (and even positions on back) car will always start in the outside line. The restart order is always the following: Lead Lap Cars > Cars 1 or more laps down > “Lucky Dog” Car > Wave Arounds > Cars who have received a penalty.
Once the pace car has pulled into the pits, there is a restart “zone” consisting of lines painted on the outside wall of the track. The leader of the race is to begin accelerating inside this zone to resume the race. The second place car may not be ahead of the leader at the moment of green flag, however, either car on the front row may cross the start/finish line first. Passing is not permitted until the leader of the race crosses the start-finish line. Lane changes are also not permitted until after a car clears the finish line.
Green/White/Checkered Finish
A Green/White/Checkered Finish will only be attempted once, if a caution is thrown with 4 laps to go. If this occurs the race will be immediately red-flagged behind the pace car to allow for the field to regroup. Pit road will remain closed, and one pace lap will be performed. The field will go green with 2 laps to go. Any caution that takes place with less the 4 laps remaining will immediately freeze the field, and the race will finish under caution.
“End of the Line”
Pitting any time pit road is open, will cause a driver to drop to the end of the field prior to the restart.
“Drive-Through Penalty”
Speeding while entering Pit Lane, will result in one drive-thru penalty while under green flag conditions.
All Trucks must enter pit road in single file, If this is violated, the driver that initiated the pass will be penalized.
Jumping a Restart will result in a Drive- Through Penalty
Passing before the Start/Finish Line will result in a Drive-Through Penalty.
“One Lap Penalty”
A One lap penalty will be assigned to anyone who passes the Pace Car without being instructed to do so.
